New skins, transparency, and a more "Aero" look will help with users' initial impression. Enabling drag-n-drop links and cross-linking between notes and reminders should be a top priority, IMO, because this has a direct impact on usability. I could not care less about fancy formatting...if a document requires that...it's a document, not a note. ;o)
